"whereas the highly rational societies of the renaissance felt the need to create utopias, we of our times must create fables" Francis Alÿs

A collaborative project between 10 photographers to create a work for LOOK2011 photography festival in Liverpool. Under the title of Excavating Utopia the work sought to offer a comment on contemporary life in the UK at a time of political and social change. An installation was created using wallpaper created from photographs of domestic objects donated by the residents of a single street, a video and soundscape work using google street view, and photographs of constructed rooms, portraits and the built environment.
